90 Years of Women’s Cinema in Israel A Retrospective

When I began working with the Cinematheque in 2011, my first project was to redesign their long-established magazine, a publication that has been a cornerstone of Israeli cinema culture since 1983. Edited by Edna and Dan Feinaru, the magazine has long been a platform for insightful articles, reviews, and critical discussions surrounding Israeli film as well as global cinema. With such a rich history and dedicated readership, my mission was to refresh the magazine’s visual identity while respecting its legacy. I aimed to create a design that was both modern and timeless, reflecting the evolving landscape of cinema while maintaining the publication's deep connection to its roots. The challenge was to balance the editorial focus on in-depth film analysis with a layout that was engaging and accessible to both cinema enthusiasts and casual readers.
